Sarfaraz Ahmed, who recently retired and guided Pakistan's U19 side to the Asia Cup title as mentor-manager, has been appointed head coach of the senior men's Test side for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh, where Pakistan will play a two-Test series next month. Former Test players Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul have been named batting and bowling coaches respectively.

Shan Masood will continue to lead the side in the series, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. The squad features four uncapped players in Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori.

Five players from the squad are currently part of a red-ball training camp in Lahore. These include Azan Awais, Imam-ul-Haq, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Noman Ali and Sajid Khan. The first Test will be played in Dhaka from May 8 to 12, while the second match will take place in Sylhet from May 16 to 20.

The team will assemble in Karachi on April 27 for a training camp that will run until May 1, before departing for Bangladesh on May 2. Players involved in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) will join the camp after their teams complete their campaigns, while those featuring in the final will travel after the tournament ends on May 3.
