Aasif Sheikh Anchors Nepal’s Innings
After being asked to bat first, Nepal suffered an early setback when Binod Bhandari was dismissed for a duck in just the second over. However, opener Aasif Sheikh steadied the innings with a superb knock of 94 runs off 97 balls, smashing 7 boundaries and 5 sixes. His aggressive yet controlled innings laid the perfect foundation for Nepal.
Arjun Kumal supported him well with a patient 48 from 87 deliveries, helping Nepal rebuild after the early wicket. Captain Rohit Paudel struggled for rhythm and managed only 9 runs, but Dipendra Singh Airee contributed an important 33 in the middle overs.
The late acceleration came from Aarif Sheikh, who played a blistering cameo of 43 runs off just 24 balls, including four massive sixes. His finishing touch pushed Nepal to a competitive total of 256 all out in 49.5 overs.
For Oman, Nadeem Khan was the standout bowler with figures of 3 for 41, while Shakeel Ahmed and Hassnain Shah picked up two wickets each.
Oman’s Chase Falls Apart
Chasing 257, Oman never truly gained momentum. Captain Jatinder Singh started positively but fell for 12, while Hasnain Ul Wahab’s 29 and Hammad Mirza’s 34 offered brief resistance.
Nepal’s bowlers kept striking regularly, not allowing any partnership to settle. The turning point came through Gulsan Jha, who delivered a sensational spell of 5 wickets for 38 runs. His breakthroughs in the middle overs completely dismantled Oman’s batting lineup.
Vinayak Shukla tried to revive the innings with a fighting 36, and Hassnain Shah added a quick 14 late in the innings, but Oman eventually collapsed for 175 in 39.5 overs.
Sandeep Lamichhane once again showcased his class with tight bowling and claimed a wicket, while Dipendra Singh Airee and Karan KC also chipped in with crucial breakthroughs.
Match Summary

Nepal: 256 all out in 49.5 overs
