<p>SRH Openers Set the Tone Early

Sunrisers Hyderabad came out with aggressive intent from the very first over. Abhishek Sharma unleashed a brutal assault, scored 35 runs off just 13 balls at a strike rate above 269. His fearless hitting included towering sixes and crisp fours that immediately put Punjab’s bowlers under pressure in the early stages .
At the other end, Travis Head continued the carnage with a fiery 38 off 19 deliveries. The opening duo powered SRH to 84 runs inside the first seven overs, laying the perfect platform for a huge total.
Ishan Kishan and Klaasen Dominate the Middle Overs
After the openers departed, Ishan Kishan took charge with a composed yet destructive innings of 55 from 32 balls. He mixed innovation with clean power hitting, keeping the scoreboard racing.
The real damage, however, came from Heinrich Klaasen. The South African wicketkeeper-batter produced another IPL masterclass, hammering 69 runs off 43 balls. Klaasen targeted both pace and spin effortlessly, smashing four sixes and three boundaries in a commanding innings that crushed PBKS’s hopes of controlling the game.
Nitish Kumar Reddy provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 29 off just 13 deliveries, helping SRH finish at a gigantic 235/4 in 20 overs.
Punjab Kings Collapse Early
Chasing 236 was always going to require a flying start, but Punjab Kings suffered a nightmare beginning. Pat Cummins struck early to dismiss Priyansh Arya, while Nitish Kumar Reddy removed Prabhsimran Singh cheaply.
PBKS were reduced to 23/3 within the powerplay after captain Shreyas Iyer also fell early. The massive chase suddenly looked out of reach.
Cooper Connolly’s Lone Fight
Despite wickets tumbling around him, Cooper Connolly produced a sensational unbeaten century. His 107 off 59 balls was filled with fearless stroke play, including eight sixes and seven boundaries.
Marcus Stoinis contributed a quick 28, while Suryansh Shedge added 25 runs. However, the required run rate kept climbing, and SRH’s bowlers maintained control during crucial phases.
Pat Cummins led from the front with two wickets, while Shivang Kumar also picked up two important scalps to derail PBKS’s chase.
Bowling Difference Decides the Match
Although both teams scored heavily, SRH handled pressure moments far better. Punjab’s bowling attack leaked runs consistently, with only Yuzvendra Chahal managing an economy below nine.
In contrast, SRH’s bowlers delivered timely breakthroughs that prevented PBKS from building lasting partnerships.
